Week 1A: My Blog Theme

My theme is quite simple and minimal. When it comes to the overall design of a website, I prefer something more simple. It allows viewers to be more focused on the actual content instead of the theme itself. Especially in a blog like this one. It gives off a relaxing feeling and avoids overwhelming the audience. I tried to take off as many features as possible within the blog and didn’t even incorporate a picture of myself onto the blog. I want everyone to focus on the content only, nothing else.

Initially, I went to the entertainment category to find a music-related theme since that’s what my life revolves around. Most of the images weren’t loading properly no matter what I did and I was too lazy to upload one of my own so I went to the travel section and chose a minimalist design. I’ve always been a fan of art like this so it worked out perfectly. I love to travel and it’s always something I’ll never get tired of, but I haven’t had the chance to go outside the country yet which definitely needs to change.

As for the widget, I removed all of the ones I could expect my name obviously and chose black as the theme color. If I could I would remove every other widget from the blog and just have my name and the post. With the minimalist travel design, the theme color changes the color of the image itself and color would’ve added more life to the blog itself but the black image was most appealing to me at the moment, maybe over time I’ll change it around to keep things interesting. I’ll possibly refine my blog depending on how it’ll look with the blog posts on it but for now, as it is, it looks nice and simple.

  1. Friend, the background of your blog is black, and so is the text. This means that I had to highlight your blog entry in order to read it. Good luck fixing this.

  2. Terrell, Your picture is really striking and effective! I enjoyed your thought process in your post too. When I reviewed my blog post, I noticed my font color was not the effect I wanted. I went back into customize and advanced and reviewed all my post choices.
