Week 12 Part A: Using Business Specific Online Tools

One application I didn’t think of using is Tiktok. From what I’ve seen, in terms of artists, it’s really easy to have a song blow up or in general just become famous on this app. If you look good, can dance, you’re funny or if you make good music you’re more than likely to gain attraction on this app in a short amount of time. Plus it’ll allow you to connect with millions of people who share the same interests as you. Soundcloud is something that I already use but I really don’t push my music on that platform as much as I should, and Bandcamp doesn’t hinder good results, especially if you’re a ‘lowkey’ person. Musically might’ve been a good application, but I’m not even sure if it still exists, even if it did Tiktok took over and everything should be displayed on that platform instead. Social media is always changing and new applications come out often, I just have to be on the lookout for that golden opportunity, maybe that opportunity is Tiktok and I just have to commit to it. Everyone tells me to do it, but it’s not something comfortable for me. Then again, success comes when you exit that comfort zone and explore.

  3. I think you could really utilize tiktok due to it's unique algorithm which really helps folks with little followers go viral too. It's great to post teasers of songs to then redirect to soundcloud or bandcamp.

  5. TikTok for musicians is a great tool to have! Heard a lot of little clips on that platform that sounds cool but when you get to listen to the full song it just does not have as much impact as it shouold. Definitely try it though! It's free!

  6. Hi Terrell!

Yes, TikTok makes perfect sense for your business, but I would look into Twitter because people like short music videos that they can relate to, and you can DM to curious audiences.

    Cheers!
