Week 3 Part A: Aesthetics, Design, and Branding

 https://best-electronics-ca.com/

This website is a complete disaster, to say the least. It’s overwhelming, nothing important stands out and there is no order whatsoever. It reminds me of those small note cards we were granted in middle school to use as a cheat sheet for a test. Everything is crammed, there is no sense of proximity at all. It would seem less overwhelming if they had different tabs with all the information stored in. This website doesn’t follow the C.R.A.P.H.T.E.D guidelines at all. This website isn’t professional at all. There’s so much to do to improve, such as adding more pictures so it doesn’t look like you’re reading an archived post from the fbi.gov website and overall just focusing on proximity and organization of the information in different accessible tabs so people can read it piece by piece. If changes like this were their website would be more of a success and more people would make purchases. For one it looks like a scamming site and people probably end up frustrated because they don’t know what they’re purchasing.

Compared to the last website, this one is a bit better in terms of proximity and concept as well as a hierarchy. It’s obvious what this site is about as soon as you click on the link which I like. There’s still a lot of information displayed which can be overwhelming but I like how there’s a bit of organization compared to the other website. Alignment overall is okay, the only thing that bothers me would be that some of the text is too long to properly fit in the red or black tabs. Maybe shorting it or making the text a bit smaller would clean up that portion of the website. Another thing that bothers me is the grey background color behind the text. It would look more nice and professional if they just got rid of that altogether. The images are okay but some of the watermarks are blasted right on the image, making them more transparent, and sticking them in the corner would be more appealing. But overall the website is decent and has a clean layout.

Everything about this site is professional and beautiful, It follows the C.RA.P.H.T.E.D guideline 100 percent. The information is laid out nicely and the images are high quality within annoying watermarks being the way. The site has a nice contrast and it is appealing to the naked eye. My initial reaction to clicking on this website was surprising because of how well everything is laid out on the screen. It was completely organized and there isn’t anything out of place at all. Maybe someone else can find faults but for me, this is one of the most well-designed websites that I have come across. One thing that stands out would be the option to select cars from the inventory, their selection is nicely laid out and the site is user-friendly.

https://www.apple.com/

The apple website has a lot of visualizations that are appealing to viewers. There isn’t a lot of text but just the right amount to relay important information which does not cause the audience to feel overwhelmed. The apple website has a lot of detail, and the overall layout is appealing.

I learned how unsettling it made me feel seeing unorganized and unprofessional websites, like the first two that I reviewed. It was too overwhelming and browsing through the websites was comfortable at all and something I wanted to quickly run through and get off of. The layout of the website is everything when it comes to attracting an audience. A site will seem more credible and trustworthy if its layout is clean and professionally done. The Toyota and apple websites were soothing and actually fun to look through. Everything was laid out properly and it was easy to navigate their website and find exactly what you were looking for.
