Week 4 Part A: Defining Target Markets
Subway would be the international business chain that targets everyone across the world as their audience. Their page is filled with information about their sandwich which comes with a lot of different options, including those possibly for vegans and vegetarians. There’s a lot of information about their food being healthy and supplying for people across the nation. Along with traditional pickup, the Subway also offers the option of having your food delivered to you. One thing I noticed from first accessing the Subway website was the proportion of all the images, they were just the right size and they were able to fit a lot of visuals and information on the home page as well. There is also a rewards system to build up as you continue to eat at their restaurants. Overall, the design and layout of their website appeal to all audiences, not just a certain few. Their website is inviting to all and makes accommodations for those who have special diets. As for the Hungry Bear Deli, the images on their homepage are large and I feel like they aren’t proportioned properly and are overwhelming. The audience they appeal to would primarily be those who live in San Diego county, and they also allow accommodations for those with special diets. When comparing the two sites, the layout and color schemes seem quite familiar. Obviously, the Subway site has more tabs, a rewards system, and multiple ways to get you your food, but for the most part, both signs are similar. Hungry Bear Deli makes a bold statement on their homepage for having the best subs and sandwiches within San Diego county which prompts people to try it out and see for themselves.
